First you need to understand what sculpture is.  Sculpture is the branch of visual art that works in three-dimensional.  In ancient times, man communicated by draw on rocks.  And then carved in two-dimensional.  Then it became three-dimensional.  The sculpture was originally made of stone, metal, ceramics, marble, wood and other materials. We can make sculpture using media such as rock, wood, clay, wax, stone, metal, textiles, glass, plaster, rubber, etc.

Now I tell you how to make a sculpture with clay.

Now when you read the following steps and watch the video, you will see how a lion's face can be made with clay.

1.Need good clay that is free of dirt.  Mix it in paste form.

2.You must first draw the face of a lion.  Draw an approximation from the top, side, bottom and front.

3.Now we need a base.  You can use flat wood, stone, tile, etc.

4.Begin to add your sculptural clay to the base.

5.Make a shape like the one in the picture.

6.Shape the eye and mouth as well.
Keep the mouth open and shape as the           lion roars.

7. Carve the eye area.
Using the Point Tool, dig out the sides of the eye and shape them.
8.To make the lion's roaring appearance, roll some clay into the side of the nose.

9.Shape the parts with your finger.

10.Roll the clay in the size of a finger and set it to the sides to make lion hair.
11.After rolling the clay lengthwise, shape it as you see in the picture.

12.Wash with a soft brush to smooth the face.

13.The animal tongue is much thin  than the human tongue. So make a clay shape of that size and put it inside mouth.

14.To make the lion's teeth, roll the clay slightly and paste it on one side. One side should be sharp and the other side flat.

15.Use the small point tool to show the mustache and give the dots.

16.Lastly wash with a soft brush.
