Artist midhun chanthu painted and submitted the oil painting of Tamarakulam nediyanikal devi.
                                   Nediyanikal goddess 
                        Oil painting size 95"X 65" 



It was a heartwarming joy to be able to do a picture of nediyanikal devi.

The Goddess dwells in gentle and harsh gestures.I had a great devotion to the Goddess.  There was a lot of interest in hearing and seeing related pictures.The form of the goddess I learned from thevalasseri sri adharsh namboothiri.  In addition, devi mahathmyam, the soundharyalahari by sankaracharyar, was inspired by the Bhadrakali sculptures created by the Blessed Artists of ancient times.

As important as the face of the goddess is jewelry, weapons (clasp, coat of arms and sword), 49 snake 5 dragon faces,  prabha, serving demon. Vanamala (Ashok, Punnagam, Chembakam) 2 Lamps, the goddess's favorite terali, samkh, the stupa kuti, the talam, theti flower, the mother's appearance is complete only if it is found.


 It was very difficult to put words into art. Drew a lot of ruff sketches. It took me 9 months to do this painting.  That is the time when my mind is happy.  This time I remember my mentor raghu sir and artist Chunakkara K R Rajan sir.

Bhadrakali 
The goddess is represented by four, sixteen, or eighteen hands.  The flames flow from the head, the sharp teeth in the mouth and a tongue stretching out.  Her worship is linked to the tantric tradition of the magicians and the traditions of the ten greats, which fall under the broad umbrella of power. 
Nediyanikal devi temple, Kodungalloor, Aattukal, Chettikulangara, Thirumandhamkunnu and Chottanikkara are famous Bhadrakali temples in Kerala.

Can you make a wallet using saw dust? How?

You might be surprised  to hear that my wallet is made of wood dust,???  Y es it is true.  I like brown leather wallet. I was looking for leather in the market because I wanted to make my own.  But because the sellers were all wholesalers, the leather was not available for my use.  Photo by Cleyder Duque from Pexels Two or three days later I needed to go to the saw mill for another purpose.  I could see the dust sticking to the cutting wood. It was an inspiration. I took a few (about 2. kilograms) from the mill and bought about 1.kg glue along the way.  I went to my workshop, cut the 1/2 meter cloth, applied the wood-glue mixture to the outside of the cloth and dried it for a day. After drying I started blockprinting on it.  Since the leather was brown, I gave the design green color.
